MEET THE CHEF
I was born and raised in Telluride, Colorado and worked as a butcher at the Old Rose’s Market until graduating from high school. I attended University of Colorado in Boulder to study small business management and tourism. While attending college I worked at Jax Fish House. After working at Jax Fish House I decided to continue my culinary education by going to Arizona Culinary Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. There I studied French cuisine methods. I was able to obtain a job with a master chef at Lon’s at The Hermosa Inn. During my time in Arizona I worked with many outstanding chefs who introduced me to many different types of cuisines and methods of cooking. After working in the restaurant businesses in Arizona my family called asking me to help reopen The Floradora Saloon. Family first in mind and ready for a new adventure I joined them in Telluride.
Since returning to Telluride and running the kitchen I have had the opportunity to compete and win several cooking challenges such as The Chocolate Lovers Swing, Mushroom Festival Cook-off, and Telluride One to One Top Chef. I have been fortunate to be able to follow my passion to create healthy, creative dishes. Skiing, hiking and paragliding are a few of the other activities that keep me connected to this area.
